Airstrikes in Yemen

Libertarian Party of San Francisco

“We oppose President Trump's order to launch airstrikes against the Houthis in Yemen. Meeting violence with violence is not the answer. There are better ways of resolving this conflict and all peaceful and diplomatic options should be considered before escalation.” LP of SF

“I’ll say it again. It is unconstitutional for Pres. Trump to engage in acts of war in Yemen. It doesn’t matter how appropriate you think it is for the U.S. to take on Houthis or terrorists or anyone. Congress has not authorized war in Yemen. Engaging in war there is unlawful.” Justin Amash

In the last 18 months, the Houthis have attacked the U.S. Navy 174 times and attacked commercial shipping 145 times, says @SecRubio.

"We have a band of pirates with guided precision anti-ship weaponry exacting a toll system in one of the most important shipping lanes in the world. That’s just not sustainable."

“Today @POTUS sent a powerful and clear message to Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen. These attacks on U.S. vessels and global shipping must stop and we will hold you accountable. We will protect our people and freedom of navigation.” Sec. Rubio

"In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the US would deploy “overwhelming lethal force” against the Houthis “until we have achieved our objective,” signaling the start of a major operation that could last weeks and prompting the Houthis to warn of escalation."

US claims to have terminated Houthis leadership.
