Principles and Authoritarianism

It’s a balancing act.

To create change of increased freedoms requires some authoritarianism. The point is that desired freedoms in a world of inherently corrupt humans can not be achieved by libertarian principles alone and without some authoritarian force imposing a will upon greed and corruption. So, the trick in political leadership is to achieve maximum freedoms with minimal authoritarianism.

Libertarian believe that libertarian principles held by libertarians will solve problems such as the Ukraine war. The problem with this tendency is that most adversaries don’t hold libertarian values. Libertarians cannot explain how their principles will perfect change where libertarian principles are not even in play.
